Joshua L.F. Bower

Joshua Bower

Josh was born and raised a child of the church in western New York State. He is serving in his 11th year of ministry in the church as an ordained pastor. He received a Bachelor’s degree in history from Roberts Wesleyan College (Rochester, NY) in 2002, his Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary (NJ) in 2005, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry in Gospel and Culture at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA. When he was a student at Princeton Seminary he met his now wife of almost 12 years, Sommer, who is also a Presbyterian Church (USA) pastor. Josh and Sommer have two children: Cade (8) and Dianna (6). Josh’s passions in ministry are preaching, teaching, and studying the culture in order to build bridges across divisions in the local community. When he is not pastoring or parenting, he fills his time with binge-watching Netflix, praying his Buffalo Bills will win a Super Bowl in his lifetime, reading, working out in the back yard, and laughing as much as possible. Josh’s mantra is, in the words of Frederick Buechner, “Listen to your life…touch, taste, smell your way to the holy and hidden heart of it because in the last analysis all moments are key moments, and life itself is grace.”
