Vision

Vision Statement:
To become God's hope and joy!

In 2008 our church studied the Bible, prayed, and met about a vision statement over the course of six months.
Believing that a vision statement must be what God's plans are for us and believing the bible to call us toward becoming more Christ like we came up with the vision: "To become God's hope and joy!" The phrase, "Praying to become God's hope and joy!" is found on almost everything you will ever see come from First Pres. We believe this vision is meant for all of God's creation!

Mission Statement:
We are currently going through a similar process to create a mission statement for our church. While we do not yet have such a statement, there are elements of our mission we can share right now!

We follow God's call upon our lives through:

Evangelism: Christ proclaimed, "Come unto me all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest." Believing that this invitation is meant for all of humanity, we act as Christ's emissaries in a hurting world, inviting them to accept Christ's invitation.
Fellowship: God said, "It is not right that man should be alone." We believe that true Christianity takes place in community and fellowship with each other holding onto the beauty of Christ's proclamation that wherever two or three are gathered in His name, there He is as well!
Discipleship: The disciples preserved the truth of Christ's message through word and action. We devote ourselves to the truth of Christ's message so that this truth is preserved within our church and in us as individuals.
Ministry: The first church in the book of Acts had no need among the members. It is our purpose to ensure that no member of First Presbyterian Church have need. The sick, the needy, the hurt, the brokenhearted and the downtrodden of our church are all met with love and generosity.
Mission: Christ said, "The Spirit of the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor." Believing that the Spirit of the Lord calls us to do the same, we devote ourselves to helping the poor and needy in the entire world through action and prayer.
Worship: Recognizing God's call upon us, we worship the Creator by striving to make our lives examples of complete worship.
