Why Should You Pledge?

Christ gave us a great commission to spread His teachings here on earth, and pledging is one way that we can easily contribute to that mission.  Locally, we rely on pledges to help us budget for the operations and missions we plan each year at 1st Presbyterian Church.

How Much to Pledge?

Giving is a matter of proportion not of size. Consider a proportion of your household income that best represents your abilities and your appreciation to God for his blessings in your life.  God does not ask you to sacrifice more than you have. If you simply give out of the abundance you have received, that will be the right amount.

How to Pledge?

A pledge is usually a weekly, monthly, or quarterly amount that is sustainable throughout the year and given in regular increments.  You can submit your pledge in one of three ways:

  1. Complete one of the pledge cards you will find in the pews of the sanctuary, place it in the offering plate during worship;
  2. Send an e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with your name, telephone number, address and the amount you wish to pledge;
  3. Send a written pledge by mail to the attention of Marie Kreiser at the church address.

All pledges to First Presbyterian are confidential.
